A 200-year-old cypress tree was cut . The tree species is Yoshino Hinoki.
Yoshino cypress and Yoshino cedar plant 7,000 to 10,000 seedlings per hectare, and trees grow in high density. The branches are cut and thinning of about 20% is repeated every few years.
In this way, the height of the tree is increased, there are no branches, it is easy to process, and the annual rings are fine, uniform and beautiful. The strength can be increased by making the annual rings finer. It is a valuable Yoshino cypress and Yoshino cedar created by manipulating people.
The forestry industry in the Yoshino region described here is still inherited by the technique inherited from 500 years ago.
